Infected apple trees / plants show variable symptoms in field. Usually creamy white to yellow patches appear on the lamina. The spots may be so numerous that a part or whole leaf may turn yellow. The leaves become necrotic and finally wither away. Gradually plant looses vigour, and yield is reduced considerably. The virus is transmitted through bud-wood, by natural root grafting and budding.

I. Virus-free mother plants should be indexed for graft and bud wood.

ii. Pruning of virus infected plants should be followed by proper sterilization of pruning equipment.

iii. Roguing and Destruction of infected plants if possible
